You only need one remote for the TV: the Roku remote. This controls the TV's power, volume, and channels.

Via the Roku box, feel free to stream from our Apple TV, Amazon Prime, HBO Max or Hulu accounts; You can try to stream from our Netflix account but it doesn't always work at the condo. We don't have a cable subscription, so you won't pick up any of the regular channels... but the Live TV feature from the Roku homescreen has the local news some other decent selections.

You may notice that the picture on the TV doesn't fill the entire screen. This is remedied by clicking the mute button on the side of the Roku remote, and then unmuting by clicking it again. Just one of those weird things.

There's a soundbar in the entertainment cabinet. This is primarily for music, as it's not connected to the TV. Feel free to connect your phone to the soundbar via bluetooth, and listen to your own music. The bluetooth is called Katana.

Living / Dining Area

There is a full kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, electric stove, electric oven, microwave, garbage disposal, and Keurig coffee maker. There are dishes/place settings for 6, and a modest selection of pots, pans, utensils, and gadgets. Please help yourself to any food and liquor in the pantry, and any drinks that happen to be in the fridge.

Parking Access

There are no cords for the window shades. To lower a shade, using both hands, gently and simultaneously pull down on the wands at both sides of the shade. Note that the shades are about 12" shorter than they should be, and they will not extend all the way down to the window sill. To raise a shade, gently push up on both wands.

Condo Access

The "bedroom" is basically just a sleeping area. There's no door and therefore not much privacy. There is a pole-supported partition dividing the bedroom from the entry area. This partition is a bit fragile, so please don't bump or lean anything against it.

There's a queen size bed, one side of which is against a wall, so if two people share the bed, one will need to do a little gymnastics to get up. (Alternatively, sleep on the sleeper sofa.)

There are fresh bedsheets and towels in a container under the bed, in the bedroom closet, and/or in the couch's storage compartment.

Just a few: No smoking, no pets, and if you generate food garbage, please take out the trash before you leave. There's a trash and recycling room on the 11th floor just down the hall from the condo. We hope you enjoy your stay in Chicago and at Printers Square! Please call if you need anything during your stay.

The living / dining area has a couch, a couple chairs and ottomans, and two small tables that can be used for dining or as a work desk. There's also a bartop extending from the kitchen, with a couple bar stools. There's probably enough seating for 8-10 people, although that would seem crowded given the size of the space.

Contact us for the name of the Wifi network and password.

The condominium is called Printers Square, and it comprises about 4 buildings spanning the entire block of South Federal Street between Polk and Harrison. To access the condo, enter via the 740 S. Federal entrance. This requires a building key or fob, which you should arrange to get from us ahead of time, along with the key to unit #1102. If you lock yourself out of the building, dial the code for South Loop Properties from the intercom in the vestibule, and we can buzz you into the building. Also, we have a spare unit key hidden in a lockbox in the building. If you need the emergency key, just give us a call and we'll provide instructions.

Window Shades

The bathroom is accessible through the sleeping area. We stock liquid body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and liquid hand soap, as well as bath towels and hand towels.

We have a reserved parking space in the indoor garage about 2 blocks away, at 801 S. Plymouth Ct. Vehicle access into the garage is from State Street, west on 9th Street, south on Plymouth, then turn right into the garage. You need to have the transponder to open the garage door, so make arrangements with us to get in in advance. Once you're inside the garage, take the ramp down to the lower level, and park in space #P-109. The garage's vehicular exit is on Polk Street, very close to the condo.

The condo sleeps 2 comfortably, and up to 4 in a pinch. Unit has a queen-sized bed in the sleeping area and convertible couch in the living room. There's also a small cot in the mechanical room.

There's a TV with Roku box for streaming, Nest thermostat, Wifi, and a full kitchen. Help yourself to any food in the pantry or drinks in the fridge.

The best feature of the condo is its location. Walk less than 1 mile to Lake Michigan's beautiful lakefront, Grant Park, Museum Campus, Buckingham Fountain, The Loop, State Street shopping, Willis (Sears) Tower, Art Institute, and all major CTA lines. If you're ambitious, walk a little further to North Michigan Avenue shopping, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, Oak Street Beach, Soldier Field, Northerly Island, and River North.
